The State of California COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act tenant eviction protections end on September 30, 2021. Other components of the act including rent relief are still in place. Click here for resources and more tenant protection information related to COVID-19.
To assist renters and landlords, the following resources are available:
Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SERA): Emergency Rent and Utilities Assistance
Rental assistance is available to support income-qualified Sacramento families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to pay monthly rent or utilities. Help is available regardless of immigration status.

Sacramento Self Help Housing Renters Helpline
Sacramento Self Help Housing (SSHH) assists individuals and families with renter questions and those who have insufficient resources for adequate housing due to the COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act.

Sacramento CARES Meditation Program: Tenant and landlord mediation services
Residential and commercial landlords and tenants who are interested in addressing and resolving rent payments and tenancy issues related to COVID-19 eviction moratorium can get help resolving their issues through conversations facilitated by a third-party mediator.
